Enough is Enough !

Everytime
A disaster strikes
We put the blame on Act of God!

Whilst
Highland Towers still fresh in memory
Here
Comes Bukit Antarabangsa tragedy
In between
There were similar miseries...

But each time
We seem to lack strategy
Worse still
We tend to 'forget' easily.

How many times..
can we afford to suffer such tragedy?
How many times..
are we saying
"Stop further projects" but then continue
How many times..
we promise to investigate
But nothing comes out of it!
How many times..
we promise to act
But no action taken!

HOW MANY TIMES...!!!
Are we going to hear the same promises
And..
Suffer the same disasters???

Thank you for visiting my blog and leaving me your comment. I had to look up these incidents you mentioned as I was not familiar with them. Now that I have, I can say that I agree with you 100 percent. These disasters have nothing to do with God and everything to do with Man. There are many things that may be out of our hands, such as natural disasters. But, if we would only look with a larger (and with a much less self-absorbed) perspective before forcing our plans on nature (building where the ground does not support it), these sorts of disasters would not have to occur.

Also, thank you for your post on Tips for facing Problems. Wise advice!

Thank you for visiting my blog too :)

It is very goo questions being asked in this post. Indeed, how long will it be until we learn? It's easier to deal in platitudes than to actually do something about problems, isn't it?

Hi Genie Sea,

You are right, when are we going to learn? Now or never...
Thank you for sharing, welcome!

Hi Cityding,
Very interesting poem and thoughts and I am in total agreement we keep abusing and at the very least, take our planet for granted. I once wrote a poem about the way we do that and how the earth will and does punish us for it.
Thanks for your kind comment on my blog too
Hugs June.

ps
I will try and find the poem and share with you

Oh I found it here :

Another World (the ocean ) (c)J Macfarlane 2005

A world reaches out for us,
boldly embracing, entwining.
Heart pounding; it beats for us.
And around us.
Strange place without air,
inhabited by placid beasts,
peaceful creatures.
A world which gives,
to we who take.
A bountiful world,
generosity its strength.
We snatch from its hands,
food and knowledge.
Greed for its wealth,
abusing every gift,
our thanks?
A spill of poison ink,
and a whisper of regret.
A world reaches out for us,
And we,with our inflated sense of human superiority.
We with so called intelligence,
Will,one day underestimate,
the survival instinct of this other world.
And its unheeded warnings of,
the mighty of the sea.

Hi Cityding~

What an impact of power and compassion your poetry here has on me! You are a beautiful and striking writer ... who is asking the right questions! May your voice become an echo in every land. . . .

I scrolled down the page ... and well, it appeared that perhaps your daughter just got married??? If so, congratulations on extending your beautiful family :)

It is probably early morning there, so indeed have a impact-full and stunningly beautiful day! . . . And may the powerful questions you put out there, trigger a Karmic ripple in your land ... and world.

In Joy,
Kristen

Hi cityding,如是的事件,已经是司空见惯的啦!灾难发生过后才来推卸责任,找替死鬼。
看来这群人是永远不会吸取教训的。

citiding said...

Jiubo君 说得对,有关当局好像从来都不吸取教训和经验。
往往等到事情发生了才开始行动,过后又忘记了。
对这些人来讲,可能治疗胜过预放吧!

Hi,
I, also, was not familiar with the disasters you spoke of but can say it is of my opinion that most tragic events always have man at their epic-center. They say history repeats itself which when one lives through such events one can't understand how educated man can let it happen again! ! One of those never to be answered questions...all we can do is help when we can and where we can.
Thanks for stopping by my blog. I appreciate you taking the time.:)

Hi fishing guy, Tina:
Welcome to my blog!

Indeed,
Man makes mistakes
But puts the blame on God.
History repeats itself
Because man is forgetful;
History repeats itself
Because man never learns.

Hi Cityding,

Expert people for the project are too busy finding causes of the failures...thats normal...
NOW it takes a brave individual to really deep drill on why promises were not fulfilled...
perhaps money and time is one issue...always the case isnt it?
Nice topic in ur blog..keep sharing.
